Gas work has to be done by a licensed gasfitter
In Alberta, gas piping and appliance connections must be done by a certified gasfitter and covered by a gas permit. In Edmonton, the City issues gas permits for installing, altering or relocating gas equipment, including water heaters, ranges, dryers, BBQs, garage heaters, fireplaces, patio heaters and fire pits. Homeowners may not run new gas lines themselves. Unpermitted gas work can cause problems with insurance claims and when you sell.
Gas lines we install
BBQ and outdoor kitchens
No more running out of propane mid-cookout. We run a dedicated line to the deck or patio with a quick-connect outlet, protected and secured to code. Fire tables and patio heaters too.
Gas ranges and cooktops
Switching from electric to gas cooking? We run the line, install the shut-off and connect the range, and confirm your existing gas supply can handle the extra load.
Garage heaters
A garage heater makes an Edmonton winter much easier. We install the gas line and connection, and make sure the venting and clearances are right.
Fireplaces, dryers and water heaters
Gas fireplaces and inserts, gas dryers, hot water tanks and tankless heaters, all connected and tested.
Gas line sizing
Every new appliance adds load to your gas system. A tankless water heater or large garage heater can push an older system past its capacity, which causes appliances to underperform or shut down on the coldest days, when the furnace is also running flat out. We calculate the total load and pipe lengths for your home, and upsize lines where needed.
